RAG Week 2012 is taking place from Monday, January 23rd, to Friday, January 27th. All money raised will be donated to a number of Trinity based charities. There will be a large amount of various activities taking place during each day and night. The Trinity charities which the proceeds from RAG Week go towards are VDP, VTP, S2S, Suas, FLAC, Amnesty, Cancer Soc, and the Student Hardship Fund.
RAG Week Fundraisers
After the success of RAG Week 2011, we'll be continuing the RAG Week Fundraisers option. These are people who sign up to raise money through getting involved in activities already taking place, or by coming up with their own ideas and doing them during RAG Week 2012. This idea can be anything at all, and you can collect money in whichever way you wish. There is no limit on a maximum or minimum you need to raise to be a RAG Week Fundraiser.
We'll be working with MyCharity.ie again this year. It's proven that fundraising online helps to raise far more than carrying around sponsorship forms, so give this a shot!
Simply open this link then just click "Create your page" beside the TCDSU RAG Week event, and follow a couple of easy steps to create your individual fundraising page. Put the link to your personal fundraising page up on your Facebook, e-mail your friends & family, and help a great cause! Make sure to grab a sponsorship form from House 6 too for those aunties & uncles who don't use d'internet!
After setting up your page, you can pop over to the Trinity Students' Union Front Office in House 6 to register your details and pick up a RAG Week Fundraiser Sponsorship form, and a RAG Week Fundraiser t-shirt. These will be given out from Monday, January 16th.
We'll be redoing the extremely popular t-shirts that will say "I am <blank> for RAG Week 2012" this year. In this space you fill in what you're doing for RAG Week, and use this to help you gather funds from friends, family, class mates, or anyone at all! Instead of asking people to donate for events in which they may not know anyone involved, we are bringing RAG Week back to the lecture halls and different groups throughout Trinity, and to the family and friends of the students too. Last year this hugely increased the total money raised for the RAG Week charities, and will make RAG Week 2012 an interactive and unmissable event!
This year we're encouraging everyone to be as inventive and original with their fundraising ideas as possible. Have a think about doing something based around your personality or traits, as it's unique ideas that catch people's attention and help raise the most money.
We're also recommending people to use Goal-Oriented Fundraising. So for every €20/50 you raise, you'll add another element to what you're doing! It keeps people wanting to donate more to see you do even more ridiculous stuff.
So get the thinking cap on and help a great cause by becoming a RAG Week 2012 Fundraiser!
