On Tuesday, March 21st, TCD Students' Union will host a panel discussion on the idea of "degrowth", the radical idea that using less resources and prioritising well-being in politics can help save the planet. We will discuss how the Irish Government and Trinity College Dublin can work with community banks such as Capital Credit Union to build a campus and world we want to live in.
Everyone is welcome to attend, you don't have to be a current Trinity student. The event is open to the general public as well as staff and alumni.

Neasa Hourigan is the Green Party TD for Dublin Central (formally councillor for Cabra-Glasnevin). Neasa is Green Party Finance & Health Spokesperson and Chair of Policy Council. She has a professional background as a specialist in creating sustainable communities and was a university lecturer in environmental development and design. She and her family have lived in Cabra, Dublin 7 for 15 years.
James Liston is the Business Development Manager at Capital Credit Union (CCU), where every member has a say in how the bank works. He is responsible for creating community partnerships such as the TCDSU/CCU Emergency Food Vouchers scheme. Since graduating with a BA in Politics & International Relations (University of Limerick) and an MA in Political Communication (DCU), he has worked as a parliamentary assistant in Seanad Éireann and has dedicated the last number of years to overseeing CCU Youth and Community programmes, as well as many other initiatives.
Martha O'Hagan Luff is an Assistant Professor of Finance in Trinity College Dublin, and the Director of the MSc in Law and Finance. She holds a BA in Economics, an MSc in Finance and a PhD in International Finance from Trinity College. Her research interests are in the areas of Home Bias in Equity Investments, Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Finance.She has published articles in many journals including the International Business Review, International Journal of Finance and Economics and Small Business Economics. Prior to completing her PhD she worked in Investment Banking in London and Dublin, for Bank of America, Credit Suisse First Boston and Bank of Ireland Global Markets.
