Enable Ireland is a leading national voluntary organisation which provides family support services for people with disabilities and their families, in partnership with the HSE and other State and voluntary agencies.
We are recruiting for a Staff Nurse/RGN/RCN (permanent and full-time) to support a young teenager who has a physical disability which is progressive, and requires daily nursing and health care assistance. Support is required in this young man’s home which is in the Clondalkin area of Dublin.
The role: The post holder will be responsible for the provision of an evening and night time nursing service to service users in their own home and in their local community. Candidates must demonstrate understanding and empathy to the recipient of the service, a keen interest in working within a caring environment, and will have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Essential criteria for the successful candidate:
× A recognised validated University Degree or an equivalent qualification in General, Childrens and/or Intellectual Disability Nursing.
× Must be registered with An Bord Altranais.
× Be eligible to work in the state.
× Minimum of one year’s experience preferably in a similar area of practice.
Desirable criteria for the successful candidate:
× Experience working with children and adults with disabilities and their families.
Some of the Duties & Responsibilities include:
Responsible for the day-to-day management of the medical/nursing intervention using researched based practice.
Deliver a high standard of nursing care to the assigned service user and their family, within a best practice/evidence based framework.
Ability to care for children with respiratory difficulties, epilepsy, tracheotomies, and life limiting illness.
