Afterschool Positions - Supervisors & Practitioners

At Kids Inc we offer a professional ‘Out of School Hours’ Service to primary school children.

Our afterschool and sports programme is built on having fun and play ensuring that the atmosphere is different to that in a classroom. Our aim is to extend children’s daily learning by involving them in a range of creative and sport programmes that will positively stimulate them physically, cognitively, socially and emotionally.

Kids Inc are looking to hire experienced Afterschool Supervisors and practitioners for our afterschool centre in Deansgrange South Dublin These positions will require candidates who can speak Irish to a high standard

Practitioner Role (Permanent Part Time Position based in an Afterschool centre) Main duties and responsibilities:

Supervising and supporting the Afterschool Children to complete homework in a timely manner

Coordinating weekly Team meetings to ensure effective communication and planning of sports coaching and activities

Observing, monitoring and recording where necessary the wellbeing of the children.

Maintaining accurate attendance records on the children, in addition to other regulatory records.

Maintaining close, effective, working partnerships with parents to ensure the wellbeing of their children.

Meeting and greeting parents in a positive and friendly manner each day. Inform parents on any events they can contribute or participate in.
Supervisor Role:
The same responsibilities as the practitioner role as well as the following

Manage staff, and responsible for delegating duties

Daily management of the centre, including, admin and report completion

Planning and develop indoor and outdoor activities in response to the children’s interests and the centre's scheduled activities


To be successful candidate for the Supervisor and Practitioner roles:

Minimum 1-2 years experience in working with children 4yrs-12yrs
Fetac L5 in childcare would be desirable but not essential
Physical Education / fitness qualification is desirable but not essential
Arts & Crafts experience
Dynamic and flexible approach to tasks essential Excellent communication skills
Excellent Irish (only for position in Deansgrange, South Dublin)

Please note that Induction training will be provided from mid August

Applicants must be available during school term time from September to June (including mid term breaks)
Hours of availability Monday – Friday 1.00pm – 6.30pm (minimum of 3 hours per day)
