Policies are “instructions” for what issues the Union should focus on or how Union officers should do their work. There are two types of Union policy:
On the 18th October 2022, SU Council put forward to referendum an amendment of the existing “LTP 4: Sports Centre Levy” (enacted in 2015). If the referendum passes, the LTP 4 will change from:
“TCDSU should support an increase in the existing Annual Sports Centre charge from €90 to €120 with the provision that;
“TCDSU should support the continued collection of the Annual Sports Centre charge with the provision that;
In accordance with the TCDSU Constitution, campaigning on the referendum began on Monday 23rd January at 10am.
All TCDSU members who have registered to vote will receive an online voting link. You will be asked to vote “Yes” or “No” to the question “Do you agree to the proposed amendment to LPT 4: Sports Centre Levy?”
If at least a 60% majority votes “Yes”, the proposed wording will become Long-term Policy. The result of the referendum will be circulated via email on Thursday 2 February.
