Ava Tuohy

My name is Ava Tuohy and I am your Graduate Officer for the upcoming academic year!

My role is to represent and support postgraduate students throughout their time at Trinity. Whether you're dealing with concerns about your research, supervision, funding, workload, or your overall wellbeing, I'm here to provide advice, advocacy, and support. If you're unsure where to turn or need someone to help you navigate an issue, don't hesitate to get in touch.

I also work closely with the President to campaign for fair postgraduate funding, stipends, and employment rights for postgraduate researchers, and with the Education Officer to address academic issues affecting postgraduates. Alongside the Welfare and Equality Officer, I help develop initiatives that support postgraduate wellbeing, with a focus on mental health, financial assistance, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance. I also work with the Entertainments Officer to organise events and networking opportunities that help build a vibrant postgrad community.

Another key part of my role is representing postgraduate students at the highest levels of College. I sit on a number of committees, including the Board of Trinity College Dublin, the University Council, the Graduate Studies Committee, and the Student Life Committee. This allows me to ensure that the voices, experiences, and priorities of postgraduate students are heard when decisions are being made.

My job is to help make your postgraduate experience as positive and rewarding as possible. Whether you have a question, need support, or simply want to raise an issue affecting postgrads, please don't hesitate to reach out. I'm here to help in any way I can!
