University Times

Mairead Maguire

Hi, my name is Mairead! I’m a third-year history and political science student from Donegal and I’m running to be the next Editor of The University Times! I joined the paper as Societies Editor in second year and since then have served as News Editor and Deputy Editor. I believe my experience, passion and work ethic makes me the right person to be at the helm of Ireland’s largest student newspaper. If you want an editor that builds community and provides opportunities for all cohorts of students, vote Mairead for UT Editor!

Ents Officer

Max Lynch

Hi there! My name is Max Lynch and I’m running to be your next Ents Officer. I’m a third-year computer engineer, captain of the Trinity Surf Club and resident at DUDJ. The pandemic took away a large part of my college experience and made me realise how important it is that Trinity Ents’ ensures the college is a safe, inclusive environment for all. I want to ensure every student has an event they feel excited to go to, and a space they feel comfortable to relax at after a long day of lectures!

Nadia

Hey! My name is Nadia, a 3rd year CS student. As your future Ents officer I will plan an unforgettable year for all. I love organising (and attending!) events, and have been to arguably more Trinity events than Trinity lectures. I have a strong track record in event management, and I am an integrated part of Dublin’s nightlife scen. I know what students are looking for in events and as your future Ents officer I promise to make Trinity Ents more inclusive, safer and sustainable. As a queer, POC female, I strive to make Trinity Ents more accessible for all.

Ross Donnelly

Hi, I’m Ross Gerard Donnelly, I’m a third year Computer science and business student from
Skerries and I think I’m the perfect candidate to take the helm as ents officer.
Over the last year I’ve been ents officer for Trinity sailing and have organised a variety of
events with them. I’m also directing this year’s pantomime with trinity VDP.
I’d aim to have events become safer and more collaborative by working with the colleges
social justice officers and ents officers. I’d like to see trinity ents have a positive impact on
the planet, the community and the wellbeing of our students.

Communications and Marketing Officer

Julie Smirnova

Hi, I’m Julie! I moved from Russia to Kildare at the ripe age of 2 — now I’m a final year
politics and economics student, the SU citizenship officer, and the public relations officer for
Trinity Vincent de Paul. On Sundays I teach seven year-olds how to fall off horses!
I want to reorient the SU around community: the root of activism. There are nearly 20,000
TCD students scattered across Dublin. If all of us felt part of the union that’s meant to
represent us, if all of us felt like we’d built it, imagine how much we could achieve?

Welfare and Equality Officer

Chloe Staunton

Hey I’m Chloe Staunton (she/her) and I’d love to be your next Welfare and Equality Officer!

I’m passionate about student welfare at Trinity and have lots of relevant experience including being the current SU part-time officer for students with disabilities and an S2S head mentor. I am passionate about striving for equality and making Trinity, and the SU inclusive to all.

I’m hardworking, committed and most importantly I care. I want to help you during your time at Trinity, and be a friendly face you can turn to when needs be!

Cúnla Morris smiling, in Front Square

Cúnla Morris

Hi, I’m Cúnla! I’m 23 years old, a native Irish speaker, and you can use any pronouns for me. I’ve been at Trinity for five amazing years, studying Irish and History. I want to be your welfare officer next year because I care about students, I care about college, and I care about you. I have a lot of experience in dealing with casework as well as activism and advocacy. My ideas are mainly centred on accessible, bilingual office hours, TCDSU transparency, and pandemic social recovery. You can register to vote now and you can vote #CúForYou on March 1st-3rd.

Education Officer

Zoe Cummins standing in front of the Campanile, smiling

Zoe Cummins

Hiya! I’m Zöe Cummins. I study Astrophysics, I’m from Wicklow and I’m running to be your next Education Officer. I’m this year’s STEM Convenor, where I represent every STEM student on the SU and college committees. I have also been a class rep, school convenor and Secretary of Diversity in STEM. Outside of the SU I’m the President of SUAS Trinity, a S2S Head Mentor, Trinity Access Programme Ambassador and Consent Trainer. I am running because I have the experience, passion and ideas that will make me a great Education Officer. If you’ve any questions please get in touch @Zoe4Education. Thanks for reading!

President

Gabi Fullam

Hi! I’m Gabi Fullam (she/her), I’m from Lucan, I’m a final year Philosophy and Sociology student and with your help, I would be honoured to be your next TCDSU president. I want to make sure college works for you. In my four years of college, I have seen just how inaccessible and unreliable Trinity can be when its students are in most need of care. This simply is not good enough, and I want to do something about it. I want to bring about anti-racism measures, a reform to our tutor system, hold college and government accountable and so much more

Rebecca Kelly standing in front of the Campanile, smiling

Rebecca Kelly

Hi! My name is Rebecca Kelly (she/her) and I want to be your next Students’ Union
President. I’m a final year law student and currently serving as your Gender Equality
Officer.I’m a seasoned activist, having been involved in a number of campaigns and
movements on a local, regional and national level over the past 9 years, and I want to make
your life easier. I have deep institutional knowledge at multiple levels of the students’
union and I understand how to get the job done. From accessibility to activism to everyday
amenities – you can Count on Kelly for a union that starts with you.
